After a well-deserved break from politics and travel to various parts of America, I am baaaack! And so is Frank Leidermann, my good bud and political colleague.
I will be more controversial than before by challenging the status quo of our country, commonwealth and community. We need real economic and social change (which Obama will bring), if America is going to be once again the land of opportunity and equality for all. I am talking about structural changes to our economic system and social order.
I will also challenge our political leaders and parties to act in the best interest of the people. I am not sure that Governor Beshear’s (who means well) retirement plan serves the current retirees. I am certainly not convinced that the city should spend millions on building the Louisville Arena in this time of economic crisis.
Please do not take my comments personally. I can still support you and appreciate your work even though I do not agree with a particular action or program.
The editors of “The Bridge” will rarely, if ever, post negative comments about a person. We do not want to hurt anybody or damage anybody’s reputation. What is the point! We would rather stick to the issues than be a gotcha service.
The editors of The Bridge would like to post your opinions. If you passionately disagree with Frank or me, let us know. We (especially I) have been wrong many a time. I have changed my mind about issues many a time. I was initially 100% against the 86-64 project, but the more I read and hear about it, the more I like it. Now, I am favor of it.
A wise person once told me that the only stupid idea is one that has not been re-evaluated. I best re-evaluated my ideas through dialogues with others. So let us dialogue then.
