Tyler Allen(D), Candidate for Mayor of Louisville, Says Keep Greater Louisville Toll Free
This is your city. It’s your money. It’s your vote.
This is your City. Now is the time for us to come together and tell the powerful interests in Louisville that ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. We will no longer sit by idly and allow a powerful few to determine the fate of the many. Louisville is a place for EVERYONE to enjoy. It’s also a place where EVERYONE should have a voice.
It’s your money. Over the past few months the Bi-State Tolling Authority has met to determine how to pay for the grossly bloated and outdated Ohio River Bridges Project and its new 23 lane Spaghetti Junction. Because of the $4.1 Billion price tag, it’s clear that this un-elected Authority will be using TOLLS to pay for the Project; even TOLLS on our existing bridges that have been paid for already by your tax dollars.
This would likely result in one of the largest tax increases Louisville has ever imposed on its citizens. Making such a recommendation during these economic times is not only irresponsible, it shows a complete lack of respect for our neighbors who are struggling just to make ends meet. Government has to learn to reduce wasteful spending, make wiser investments and focus on results!
It’s your vote. Use it to send a direct message that we want a smarter, better city where we can live, work and raise our children. Tyler’s primary opponents – Greg Fischer, David Tandy and Jim King – all support this boondoggle as well as using TOLLS to pay for it. How can we entrust our city with politicians who think this is a good idea? How can we expect to unleash this economy if they revert to raising taxes in the form of TOLLS?
Tyler is the one and only candidate in this race you can trust to make sure our travel across the Ohio River remains TOLL FREE. It is time to build the East End Bridge with existing revenue streams. Tyler is the one and only candidate in this race who has a consistent position on this, one of the biggest issues facing Louisville's immediate future and an issue that has been holding Louisville back for decades.
We need your support to spread Tyler’s message in the last crucial weeks before the election. Today is our reporting deadline for financial contributions. Please reach down and make a donation to Tyler’s campaign now, so that you won’t have to be reaching down to pay TOLLS in the future.
